Public cooperation is needed to ensure the success of solid waste disposal programme. Therefore, the "Cleanliness Awareness Campaign" launched on 5th May 1991 in conjunction with the Action to Make Malaysia a Clean and Beautiful Country (ABC).

Public cooperation is much needed as in the following:-

• Stop the habit of disposing rubbish in public places.
• Stop the habit of dumping rubbish illegally.

The Council encourages gotong royong and public participation in cleanliness and campaign with a hope that it would make the people aware of the creation of a clean and beautiful environment.

The Village Development and Security Committee, Residents Associations, Schools and other voluntary organisations organised many gotong royong projects. The Council assisted in providing materials and equipment such as baskets, scoops, rakes as well as lorries (side loader) to transport the rubbish to the dumping ground.
