2. How long will the action be taken on the complaints received?
Acknowledgment of receipt will be given on the same day.
3. What kinds of complaints can be submitted to MBPP?
a) cleanliness (garbage, drainage, roads)
b) Cutting of trees
c) Road damages
d) Construction without permission
e )Public utilities (street lights, traffic lights, bus stop, public park)
f) car parks etc.
ASSESSMENT TAX :
1. What is assessment tax?
Assessment tax is a tax on properties under the Penang City Council’s jurisdiction such as private homes, business properties (stores, complexes, hotels etc), industrial properties (factories, ports etc) and lands (empty without structures, agriculture lands, and land approved for array)
2.Can the tax assessment be exempted?
The assessment tax can be exempted if the building is destroyed in a fire, storm or due to other causes.
3. Why does the Council impose assessment tax on a land when a revenue tax has been imposed by the Land Office?
The quit rent imposed on every land is in accordance with the land titles written off by the State Government according to the provisions under the 1966 National Land Code. Meanwhile, the assessment tax imposed by the Council is in accordance with the 1976 Local Government Act.
4. Will a concession be given for a house occupied by its owner?
No. There is no allocation under the Local Government Act 1976 that enables the Council to give concession on houses occupied by the owners.

License rate are subjected to types of activity / business which operate.
HOW TO APPLY LICENCES FOR VARIOUS TRADE SKILLS ?
1) Get application form (composite form) at licensing division over the counter.
2) Fill in form completely. Enclose other required documents.
3) Bring up over the counter form licensing division. Receipt acknowledgement letter will be delivered to applicant.
4) Council's officialdom will make inspection on that premise.
5) Applicant will contact through letter whether rejected applications or approved with certain terms.
HOW TO APPLY STALL FOR LICENCE HAWKER ?
1) Get over the counter application form licensing division
a) PK 001 for hawkers
b) PK 002 to Stall
2) Fill in form completely. Enclose other required documents.
3) Bring up over the counter form card licensing division declaration accepts will be issued to applicant.
TO MARKET STALL, TEMPORARY AND COMPLEX HAWKERS SITE COUNCIL.
Applicant would be called for interview when found stall vacancy.
HOW TO APPLY FOR HAWKERS (STATIC / LEAVE) ?
Council's officialdom will make inspection on that location site / stall.
Applicant will contacted through that letter result of the application.
